The concept is simple: create one piece of art a day for 30 days. The execution thus far has been, in a word, inspiring. I feel like I’m a hunter; the prey can be anything in my environment, and the weapon is the medium I use to execute the piece. I find myself being more adventurous, wanting to take in different experiences that will promote new and interesting pieces. Pictured above are one week's results. Click on a date to get the details of what inspired me that day.

Party Time!
Summer is upon us, and outdoor events such as birthdays, picnics, weddings, graduation parties, family reunions, etc., abound. There are few things an artist & designer such as myself can bring to the proverbial table:
It all starts with the INVITATIONS, and I can make them truly fun and unique.
Once people have arrived, depending on the event, a BANNER can help guide them to the festivities.
When settled, folks might need some direction on what happens next. A PROGRAM outlining your event may be just the thing they require.
A universally-known truth is that everybody loves FACE PAINTING! |

Speaking of Parties...
I married into a family whose culture is particularly colorful and loves to party. My husband is Bengali, and when we attend family festivities the party wear is especially fun, albeit challenging to navigate (especially sarees), so it’s important that everything fits well.
After a bad experience with the tailor who took in my wedding dress, I took my business to Polka Dot Pandas for my reception garb upon recommendation from my friend Jennifer Webb. They had made her Indian-inspired wedding dress and had done a great job. The service was exceptional, prices where very affordable, and the two women running the show were rockstars. The team consists of Linda Toles and her daughter Tricia Comtois. Polka Dot Pandas consists of tailoring services (basic and formal alterations), hand-crafted children’s clothing, and accessories boutique (women’s jewelry, purses, soy candles, soaps, etc.).

Since relocating to downtown Port Huron, business has been booming, and as one of their biggest fans I plan to keep them there. Did I happen to mention their baby clothes are ADORABLE? Visit them at 201 Huron Ave. (the corner of Quay and Huron), or call 810-987-2364 if you have questions. Currently they don’t have a web site (tsk tsk!), but you can find them on Facebook. |
